Baguio City

*typing in an internet shop in SM Baguio*

Well we were only supposed to stay here for the weekend, but then our vacation has been unexpectedly extended.

Six days of blessed peace and quiet, amidst such beautiful surroundings that I feel as if I'm in a different country... a different world, even.

Now THIS is what I call a sembreak.

~ ~ ~

We watched THE FOUNTAIN starring Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz on Tata's laptop last night. Haha! Talk about open-ended films. It sparked a lively, philosophical discussion between us family members (Papa was excluded, poor thing... he fell asleep 10 minutes into the movie from exhaustion. Can't blame him... it was a tiring 9 hour drive going up here).

Has anyone else seen it? What are your thoughts on the film? :)

It's freeeeeeeezing.........

  1. Wow ate you're in baguio pala! We're there kahapon (actually nung monday pa), and yes it's really freezing, lalo na pag umaga! I've got a red and dry nose, haha. I advice you to have petroleum jelly or moisturizer or anything that could make your skin moisturized!

    Kamusta naman dyan?

About the movie yes I've seen it. All I can say is ganda ni Rachel kahit kalbo sya.
    ; )
hihi, well kidding aside...bitin sya para sakin, but still love the part where Wolverine (hehe) found the tree of life. For me it's like when you eat/take the 'katas' of that tree, you'll become part of it (kasi baka yung ibang viewer nito isipin naman nila lalamunin ka ng lupa thus it's harmful haha), like when taking the Holy spirit of God, you'll become part of His kingdom.

I also found out that the director is the husband of Weisz, o de vah -- he doesn't mind the kissing scenes of his wife and Jackman just to make the movie worth it.

'te Gab, don't go back here without tasting their taho - strawberry flavor! yummy! Take care, GB!

  3. I just got down yesterday! (11 hours on the road due to traffic). Went up last Tuesday.

And it's true. It's freezing at night! Di kinaya ng tank tops ko. Despite wearing a cardigan, a windbreaker and a hat, pamatay pa rin ang lamig!

It probably would've been easier for you guys to take the bus. We used to drive up there as well when we were younger, but this time around, no one wanted to do it! So we bought Victory Liner tickets going up and hired 3 vans and drivers going down.

  6. Hi Jorem! Haha muntik pa la tayo nag-abot.

"it's really freezing, lalo na pag umaga" ---> Also at night! haha. Heating the water for showers doesn't really help because as soon as the water hits your body, manlalamig ka na naman

"Kamusta naman dyan?" --> Konti pa lang mga tao, I expect they'll be coming up here by the droves a few days from now pa. Malamig na nga, umaambon-ambon pa. But we love it :) I feel closer to God up here. Walang distractions. We don't even have a tv where we're staying, and to have access to CRS and internet we have to go to SM Baguio.

"ganda ni Rachel kahit kalbo sya"--> So true!? The eyes... *girl crush*

"like when taking the Holy spirit of God, you'll become part of His kingdom"--> Oooh none of us thought of THAT interpretation, thanks so much for sharing!

"the director is the husband of Weisz"--> Really?!?! I wonder how he felt when filming the bath tub scene *ahem ahem*

"taho - strawberry flavor"--> Oooh where can we get that? So far all the taho we've come across is the same old taho you can get in UP

  7. Hi Cat! 11 hours on the road?!?! Whoa...

Haha I haven't slept properly the past two nights due to coughing fits induced by the extreme cold. And I'm already wearing two shirts, a cardigan, and a jacket at that!! Plus PJ's and thick socks.

But it's part of the Baguio experience. Baduy naman kung kasing lamig lang ng Tagaytay dito, hehe. The torture that one's derriere went through during the road trip would have been all for naught.

Victory Liner tickets! THEY GET SOLD OUT SO FAST! Haha. Next time, we might have better luck.

  8. Masarap nga. :) Lalo na walang tv and internet. Talagang read, eat, sleep, meditate kami dito.

    Akyat na rin kayo!! :)

  10. Ha ha! Yeah, you have a point. As for my derriere, I divided it into at least six different parts during the trip so I could take turns sitting on each para hindi mangalay, he he ;p
