  6. Gabi, I cried when you sang last night. I was moved by what you said. Especially this:

In a few minutes, we will be known as UP graduates. We do not have the luxury to choose whether or not to stay in the country, and get paid in paltry pesos when we can be paid the full value of our worth abroad. That choice has already been made for us, and paid for by the blood of our forefathers and the sweat and toil of past generations. From the beginning, our time, and even our very lives, do not belong solely to us. The Filipino people have paid, and paid dearly so we could be educated at the premiere state university. Isn’t it only just that we UP graduates be prepared to do our people the same honor they have shown us?

After that, I knew that I really have to teach in CAL, not now though, but definitely in the future. c:

I am so proud of you! Congratulations Summa Cum Laude you!

    PS

Sayang! I wasn't able to have a photo with you!

  12. Hi Gabi, congratulations from the bottom of my heart. May you continue to inspire others with your good qualities of hard work, concern for others and your being godly. And i hope you could publish your speech... I wasn't there kasi at the university graduation. Na-touch din ako doon sa ni-quote ni tahoforbreakfast from your speech. Filipinos all over the country should get to read that.

  18. Aw and here I thought I was being original. Haha. Ito ata ang ubiquitous (sp? too lazy to check) grad pose.

Tata had several poses na ganito last year haha!

Actually I wanted to carry it like a guitar and "head bang" but it was too heavy!! ;)

  20. Thank you SO MUCH Kim dear! I posted the speech a few minutes ago in my blog. :) I'm glad that you liked that portion, it's my favorite paragraph... apparently a lot of people hated it. I'm sorry they feel that way, but I truly meant every word I wrote.
