Insult me all you want... but DO NOT insult my family

This is too much. I can no longer keep silent.

They can insult me all they want... but now they've gone too far. This is far beyond the bounds of decency. Have they no shame?!?!

"kilala ko si Gabi.Elitista yan. Ang tatay Hitler. Ang nanay Praning.Sosyalera pero kung makaasta kunyari makamasa. Stuff it olreydi Gabi! Hindi bagay sa mga katulad mong ang vocab ay puro "ewww.." "you know,like,..." And for your info, yungmga nagpopost diyan na anti-nessa, bro at sis nya.Yung iba,tatay nya yun. Bum kase yun pero in fairness, yamanin."

This was the latest comment on the infamous blog post concerning a CAL student's poem written about my speech (not exactly in honor of it, either).

Lies upon lies upon lies. My father is, unfortunately, computer-illiterate, but he is the farthest thing from a bum. And my sister and brother have far better things to do with their time than post dozens upon dozens of times.

When will it stop? Will they ever end? Will they stop at nothing?

Lies. Lies. I'm sick of it.

    Oh my God. That's so low of them ha. And it's been months already! Kami ngang mga Music people nagsawa nang bisitahin ang blog na yan eh. I can't believe the other side's still crazy about last season's issues.

    I find it really disappointing that the supposedly educated and intellectually elite of our country find it in themselves to say such things about a person they haven't even met, much less her family. And it's not even a polished, intellectual panlalait. You know those witty, sharp remarks that are worthy of applause? But he, on the other hand, does no better job at insulting people than a kanto boy/tambay would.

    Hang in there, Gabs. All great people need to deal with the urchins of society. And you know very well that they do not know what they say when they talk about you or your family. I know I'd be really mad too if I were in your place, though.

    If you want I can write an article about it and publish it in the Inquirer! I have the power! Huwahahahahaha!!! And I'm good at making bitchy patamas seem like essays that are relevant to society. It's all about the word play, the focus, and the angle of attack. Like I did here

    Anyhow I'm just kidding. I know you're too nice for something like that. But I'm here if you need anything. And if you need a little devil on your side.

    ps. Yours is an interesting issue, though ;p

    hayaan mo na. he (or she, or whatever) has said his/her piece, and you said yours, in proper defense. at this point, you need not stoop down to "its" level. it takes a person of great stature (and popularity, woohoo!) to be given criticism (or kung ano man yun). ayaw mo nun, sikat ka!

    ps: my other sis attended the oblation scholar's function in which you were a guest. hanep ka daw! hope it makes your day :)

    these comments aren't worth thinking about. even the person who wrote it obviously didn't think about it much. it's so senseless! people are so lost nowadays. just let it go. no educated person will take that comment seriously.

    Hayaan mo na lang, Gabi. Inggit lang yun. Atsaka matapang lang yun dahil sa anonymity ng online posting. Hahaha, isa siyang duwag. Isa siyang malaking duwag na walang backbone. Marami kaming kaibigan mo na naniniwala sayo at alam na desperado lang yang mga taong ganyan. Inggit lang talaga yan, pangarap niya kasi sigurong mag-speech bilang summa pero di natupad.     Kilala ko si Gabi. Kahit isang beses ko lang siya nameet pati ang parents and brother niya, alam kong marunong silang makisama sa kahit sino, ano pa man ang estado nila sa buhay. Ang tatay, masayahin. Ang nanay masayang kausap. Ang brother niya ay parang mahiyain pero ok din naman kasama. Ang kambal niya ay singtalino at sing cool niya. Yung mga naninira kay Gabi, losers!

    hay naku, you're a beautiful person and i though i havent had the pleasure of meeting your whole family (except for tata), i am certain that you must have come of a beautiful household as well. wag mo na sila isipin. alam ko that an attack that low is uncalled for, but siguro you can just forgive them and pray. we all are behind you.     just use this as a challenge to grow. there's this teaching that goes, instead of saying "you bother me" to another person, just say "you sanctify me." naks. ;-)

    But you are right. you should not keep silent Gabi. Dapat sabayan na rin silang maiingay, na kesyo sila ang nagsasalita or nagpa-publish ng thoughts nila eh sila na ang mga tagapag-alaga ng katotohanan. Di naman pwede yan....
    pero ganyan talaga ang buhay. ang pagpili na magsalita at harapin ang mga usaping panlipunan sa pulpito ng UP graduation rites ay tiyak na may epekto sa maraming tao na humuhulma sa pambansang opinyon.
    Kaya natatakot yan sa yo kasi ikaw ay isang taong me academic credibility, at alam nila na kung ikaw na ang magsasalita marami ang makikinig.
    Madali lang mag-type ng mga salita sa cyberspace pero ang pag-build ng reputasyon ay napakahirap, lalo't lalo na kung academic credibility.
    Bihira ang tulad mo. Huwag kang patatalo. At sasabihin ko sa yo marami rin ang sumusuporta sa yo.

    Bitterness breeds bitterness, Gabi. Am glad to know that you refuse to stoop to their level. Read up on the ongoing word-wars on cyberspace thru Tata's Multiply page. Amazing to see how much venom some people have to spew.

    Take solace in the fact that the society-changing work you do (Ex Libris being a part of it) truly defines you as an agent of change. And you don't need to be THAT kind of a pseudo-activist to do it. :)
